Julianne Moore: The new face of Bulgari

Julianne Moore dazzled in her mother-of-pearl and diamond Serpenti bracelet and cluster earrings courtesy of Bulgari in celebration of their new campaign face last night in Milan. CEO of the Bulgari Group, Francesco Trapani, stood by the actresses side, happy with their collaboration on the Mert & Marcus-shot campaign. “She’s perfect to work with, beautiful, poised, professional,” Francesco enthused. That’s not to say Moore considers herself a natural when it comes to fashion. “Fashion had never been a subject I have ever regarded seriously, even after having worked with a trend linchpin like Tom Ford,” Moore said. “I told Tom flat out at the start of filming that we wouldn’t be sharing a passion for fashion.” Did the fabulously attired actress protest too much? “He did let me know by the end of filming that he thought I had caught his style bug,” she said with a smile. Yet, despite the compliment Moore enjoyed her time in Milan scouting furniture design stores and buying football shirts for her kids than eyeing the collections.

Jean Paul Gaultier for Target: In stores March 7!!!

Target's designer collaborations seem to keep coming out one after another, and we couldn't be happier about it! Target's past Designer Collaboration series partnerships included Alexander McQueen (R.I.P.), Anna Sui, and their latest collection, which partnered with Rodarte...which was absolutely fabulous and sold like crazy. So, it is so exciting that there is yet another genius collaboration scheduled to hit stores March 7, and that is the Jean Paul Gaultier for Target collection! The line will be sold in over 250 Target stores nation-wide, and will be on sale through April 11.

"JPG for Target pays tribute to the American woman, celebrating the forces of style both past and present in American pop culture," the retailer said. So, what is to be expected? Our guess was lots of Madonna-like bra tops, corsets, mesh tops, just like the designer's spring 2010 RTW collection. Well, we weren't spot on, but pretty close! The complete look book released recently, unveiling a pretty eclectic bunch of looks, which left us counting down the days until we can shop them! You will be able to take your pick from leather jackets, tattoo leggings, floral printed dresses, trenches, adorable swimwear, and striped tops. We're loving the all-American inspired gingham bustier, the classic and chic trench coat, and the fun and flirty yellow sunshine dress.

The collection ranges in prices from $17.99 to $199, making it affordable for all types of shoppers! Mark your calendars, March 7!!!!

So Ready To Wear DVF, Fall 2010!

"I always wanted to live a man's life in a woman's body." That is the quote that was printed at the top of Diane von Furstenberg's notes during New York Fashion Week, and now we all know why. After watching DVF's Fall 2010 collection float down the runway, it is apparent that the infamous designer, known for her very feminine designs, has finally taken a dive into the world of men's suiting for women. DVF's first look showcased her ability to succeed at about just anything she takes on, killing a beautifully tailored heather grey wool felted pantsuit with a double-breasted jacket, and paired with an amazing chiffon rosette-embellished bolero over the blazer. She continued the menswear suiting look, taking it into evening with feminine a flirty dress topped with a black tuxedo blazer. The same idea appeared again and again, each time a little different than the last, and so refreshing!

We can't wait to try out all of these looks once the Autumn weather comes around! If this is what it looks like to live a man's life in a woman's body, then a man's life we will lead for fall 2010!

Christian Louboutin's Dolly Forever

Christian Louboutin has created his second limited edition Barbie doll called, Dolly Forever. She follows Cat Burglar Barbie, created by Louboutin last year, only this time she is wearing a khaki tunic dress and fuchsia knee high fringed boots. Louboutin based the theme of Dolly Forever around spring summer '10's military inspired looks. Again, Louboutin created three alternative shoes for Dolly Forever, which comes with their own box and bag. Louboutin has been very successful with this project so far and he will continue to release more limited edition dolls later in 2010.

"We are so in love with all things Louboutin and are incredibly excited about going global with a second red-soled Barbie," Net-A-Porter founder Natalie Massenet said. Louboutin’s Dolly Forever will be available on NETAPORTER.COM in March.

"Walang Sugat" Overture

Opening scene from the sarswela that returned to Marinduque after more than a hundred years since the show was premiered in 1902. The Boac and Gasan audience that watched the show last Feb. 18 and 19 were all praises, with many able to see both shows in the two towns.

Requests have been conveyed by some municipal leaders to the office of the governor to undertake steps so that the musical play could also be brought to the other Marinduque towns.

The Philippine International Arts Festival 2010 formally ends on Feb. 26 with the holding of "Ani ng Dangal" awards at the Rizal Hall in Malacanang, with Gov. Carrion, Mayor Vicky Lao Lim and "Araw ng Marinduque" organizers invited as guests.

Zara Terez Trunk Show at Bloomingdale's

This past Friday I took a little trip down to the Bloomingdale's on 59th street for the Zara Terez Trunk Show. It was also the Fashionable Fundraiser so you can just imagine how many people were in the store. It felt like Christmas all over again. The energy was high with music and enthusiastic sales associates, which made shopping even more fun.

The Trunk Show was at the perfect location surrounded by other fabulous designers and very interested shoppers. I was able to get some great photos of the set-up and the new Spring collection, which by the way, is to-die-for! I also was able to steal Zara away for a few minutes and ask her some questions about the line!

MSMPR: What is your favorite bag from the new collection?
Zara Terez: My favorite bag has to be the Hundred and 8th Street Clutch with no strap. It's so structured and elegant, the perfect bag!

MSMPR: What colors should we be looking for when shopping for a bag this season?
Zara Terez: As for handbags, florals, pastels, a muted pastel color, and powered snake print.

*The bag above, called the Nolita was seen on Paris Hilton but in a darker color. I couldn't snap a pic of it because someone was buying it!! It's a fabulous "out on the town" bag!*

MSMPR: What was the inspiration behind this line?
Zara Terez: The line was inspired by leather with a floral basis through the entire palette.

MSMPR: Who is your celebrity influence or inspiration?
Zara Terez: Mary Kate, Mary Kate is the best, love her!

I couldn't resist anymore, and walked away with my first Zara Terez handbag! It is perfect for around the city when you're on-the-go, and definitely a must for traveling! If you don't have a ZT handbag you are definitely missing out!

Accessory Crush: Anna Sui FW 2010

The Bryant Park shows are over, and the amazing collections that were sent down those runways have us looking forward to Fall! Aside from the overall looks of each collection, we were also sooo loving the accessories for this upcoming season. Anna Sui's ready-to-wear extras were most notably fun and fabulous. This season's collection took a look back at the American Arts and Crafts movement of the late nineteenth century, showcasing Sui's known passion of Art Nouveau. You can see the influence in her swirling print tights which are perfect to play up a basic fall ensemble. The wedge fur topped boots with tassels are exactly how one should cover their feet while venturing out in cooler temps- so chic! Also, we are so happy to see that the trapper hat trend is here to stay! Anna went for full-on fur hats, so cozy yet stylish. Another wow piece was her animal skin bags, also shown in a boot, that are gorgeous and luxurious. Love!

Jean Paul Gaultier X Melissa Collaboration

Could you imagine a recyclable pair of stilettos? French designer Jean Paul Gaultier see’s this as a wonderful fashion opportunity. Not only will he achieve a complicated task, he will also be designing shoes that are helpful for the environment. Jean Paul Gaultier is collaborating with a Brazilian eco-friendly footwear brand called Melissa. Their goal is not only to create a recyclable pair of heels but to also make them fashionable and sexy. The thought of recyclable heels is great for the fashion industry, but how appealing to the eye could they be? This positive and helpful collaboration will show the world a new side of the infamous French designer’s work. The stilettos will be 4” high. The design will include opaque plastic which will criss-cross to create the straps, and other forms of plastic within the heel. They will come in five different colors including; black, camel, tangerine, beige, and lime. These basic colors make the stilettos wearable and useful for every day fashions. This infamous creation will go for $320 per pair. They will be available this coming June 2010.

The rock band Paramore’s lead singer, Haley Williams, wore Melissa’s shoes at the Grammy’s. She rocked out a pair of Melissa high heels while walking down the red carpet. Along with Haley Williams, the brand Melissa also caught the attention of some other celebrities. Singers Keri Hilson and Kesha also showed up to the Grammy’s wearing Melissa. What a milestone for the fashion industry!

This eco-friendly brand is not only popular in the United States, but also through out Europe. Banner, in Milan and the Gallerie Lafayette, in Paris, are Europe’s focal points when it comes to fashion. This is where Melissa has posted work and collaborations within fashion displays. Melissa has worked with designers Vivienne Westwood, Alexandre Herchcovitch, and architect Zaha Hadid. Hopefully this will start a new fashion trend within the industry. Maybe more designers will follow this and start using recyclable materials. With this new eco-friendly style, you can be fashionable while saving the planet!

The McQueen Label Continues

After the sudden death of the beyond talented designer Alexander McQueen, the decision to cancel the NYC runway show was made. This made his pieces exclusive, and worth thousands more than what they already were. News broke that Gucci Group still believes in the brand and they will continue the production of the Alexander McQueen label. CEO, Robert Polet has confidence in the brand and will continue the success of the fashion line in the future. “I believe strongly in the Alexander McQueen brand and its future” Polet stated.

McQueen's collection will be pushed to Paris Fashion Week where it is scheduled for March 9th.

William Rast Fall 2010 Collection

Well if you thought Justin Timberlake would stop at singing, you were wrong. His N'Sync days were only the beginning of his career. I must admit, once I heard JT was designing a fashion line a few years back I was a bit worried. Yeah, he always looked fab at events, but to be a designer is something on another level. Well, I was wrong. I first bought a pair of the William Rast jeans sometime last year and I was in love, so I was eager to see the designs this year that just hit the catwalk.

Needless to say, I was blown away, and from the live Tweeters, I think they were too! JT and childhood friend, Trace Ayala really went all out for Fall 2010. Army jackets, cargo pants, leather, and fur really consumed the runway and the models. I loved the looks and color patterns used. It's so Fall.

I picked some of my favorites to share, so enjoy!

Vera Wang On Ice

The Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010 has been just absolutely amazing so far. The athleticism, the television programing, the...fashion? Yes, New York Fashion Week wasn't the only event receiving attention from the fashion editors and photographers this past week. One major American designer, Vera Wang, tackled what would normally by a high-end fashion designer's worse nightmare, by designing men's figure skating costumes for the games. Ms. Wang was tapped to design five different costumes for the dashing American Figure Skater, Evan Lysacek, to wear in style during this year's games. It is not extremely shocking to learn that Wang will design for the ice, since she herself was a competitive skater years ago. She has also designed costumes for a number of Olympic skaters, Nancy Kerrigan and Michelle Kwan.

Evan Lysacek, 24, snatched up the gold last night in the Men's Free Skate competition, and wow did he look fabulous doing it! His flashiest costume was a charcoal grey feathered ensemble . "You have to...look good, be costumed and stay to the music," Wang told WWD. "It's kind of your worst nightmare as a designer." Well, she certainly pulled it off, as she always does. Lysacek's costume lived up to his extraordinary choreography, which he executed flawlessly, taking home another gold for the U.S.A.! This was a win for American figure skating, as well as a big win for ice couture!

Watch Evan's gold-winning routine here, at nbcolympics.com!

Oscar de la Renta Fall 2010 Collection

For New York Fashion Week, so many great designers showcased their Fall 2010 collections down the runway. Oscar de la Renta’s collection walked the runway with bold colors, fur trims and breathe taking gowns. His models looked amazing, wearing a lot of layered pieces, such as embroidered jackets, fur hats and patterned scarves and gloves that matched their tights.

Some of the hems on De la Renta’s jackets had a ring of nutria fur, which was paired with a long skirt or a matching dress. He incorporated belts around the waist line of his dresses, as well as handbags. There was one look in particular that really caught my attention with the embroidery and details. A white organza blouse with black high-waisted pants that had fans embroidered down the sides. The pants are to die for!

Even though De la Renta’s whole collection was fabulous, it was his gowns that were captivating. A silver cowl neck gown walked the runway with a gray organza long sleeve style that had rows of beads going down the dress, as well as ruffles at the hem. Breathe taking!!! This dress and many of his pieces are very well put together and gorgeous. Over all, Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2010 collection was one of my favorites. He takes classy and chic to another level with all of his pieces.

Fire It Up PR Represents Olympic Athletes

Passion, determination and aspiration is all one needs to succeed. That’s what a small Boston-based PR firm had to drive their business to success today. Fire It Up PR won an NBC RFP last year to represent 85 athletes prior to the Vancouver games and all athletes during the games. The purpose of the PR campaign is to employ viewers and fans through the athlete’s lifestyle stories. Anything from fashion to their personal stories and how they become a world class athlete is going to be the key to attract an audience. Fire It Up President Diane McNamara has been getting many media requests since the PR firm has been profiling the Olympic athletes. McNamara claims that the reason why Fire It Up is where it is today is because of “determination and being able to craft a good story.” The drive that Fire It Up has is inspiring and proves that if you put your mind to it, you can succeed at attaining your goals.

New Obsessions

Okay, so I am a complete fanatic when it comes to face and hair products. I am always up for trying new things, and often switch up shampoos and conditioners because I still haven't found the right one! As for face cleansers, I've used Shiseido for years, but I guess I started getting used to it and it wasn't doing its' job. Finally, I found my dream products, and the best part is they are all from the same store!

My good friend was always telling me to try Kiehl's for a while because all she did was rave about how amazing their products were, and I was always a bit hesitant to try it. I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on something that wasn't going to work- like I've done in the past. About a month ago I was fed up with my face wash and went to the nearest Kiehl's to try out their stuff. I didn't know what I was looking for, but I knew I wanted something that worked! The woman who helped me suggested the Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser and to follow it with the toner and moisturizer. Well, I am completely obsessed and so thankful I went!

In the March issue of Cosmopolitan I came across a page with the best/newest facial products. I forget what it was titled but this miracle serum was on the page. Kiehl's new Midnight Recovery Concentrate is my new best friend. Put on a few drops at night and wake up a new woman in the morning. The ingredients alone will make you go buy this product. It's ah-maz-ing!!
With my purchase the woman gave me a little sample of the Amino Acid shampoo, which I tried in the shower earlier. O-M-G!! My hair is soooo silky smooth it's insane. My hair is very, very long and it's hard to find a shampoo/conditioner that will work with me. Well, I think I found it! I am going right back to Kiehl's tomorrow to pick up a full size bottle and the conditioner. It is beyond amazing.
If you are just as in-tune with your products as I am, get to Kiehl's and ditch your other products. Find a Kiehl's near you or shop online (it's free shipping with orders over $50)!
