Social networks have gained so much recognition these past few years, especially with teens. Facebook has dominated the social networking scene, while Twitter is almost non existent among teens. Only 8% of internet users, ages 12-17, use Twitter and 73% of those American teens now use social networking websites. It is no surprise that teenagers are spending most of their time on social networks; however, they are not the only ones. Celebrities and companies use social networks as well, to get their name out to the public. But what about blog websites? Even though blogging is not popular among teens, it is a networking tool among adults. To my own knowledge, social networks target specific age groups, as well as blog websites. I find myself more into reading and writing blogs now than when I was a teen. As the years go on, social networks will continue to expand, targeting all age groups.
