Say it ain’t so. TechCrunch reported that an Egyptian couple named their little girl Facebook Jamal Ibrahim, supposedly to thank the social networking site for its role in the recent revolution (which led to the departure of President Hosni Mubarak).
Young demonstrators used Facebook to organize protests and share information with the rest of the world, so much so that the revolution has been referred to as “the Facebook Revolution.”
Still, naming your child Facebook? Let’s hope this does
not start a trend.
