Borders Bookstores Out of Money
Borders Group plans to officially file for bankruptcy in the next few days after several unsuccessful attempts to refinance its debts, The Wall Street Journal reported. The book giant will then close 200 of its stores, putting hundreds of employees out of the job.
Since the introduction of the Kindle and other electronic book readers, Borders has been hard pressed to keep up its sales. As technology continues to grow, the future of all bookstores is unstable, meaning Borders might just be the first of many chains to go under.
So what do you think, readers? Does the rise of e-readers signal the death of bookstores? Or will print never go out of fashion?
