It’s a Valentine’s Day miracle! After their very public breakup in 2004, Barbie and Ken are officially back together.
Barbie posted a status update yesterday on her Facebook page that read, “Who knows … maybe I’ll have a Valentine this year.” And then on Tuesday morning she changed her status to “In a Relationship.”
The world’s most famous plastic couple supposedly reunited on the set of Toy Story 3, according to Lisa McKnight, the vice president of marketing at Mattel. McKnight went on to say:
“As we like to put it, they found they were kind of missing each other. … To be fair to them, they have been together for about 43 years, so you know, I think everyone needs a break. So they took a little break and had fun out on their own and were certainly out and about, but I think ultimately, again, they were destined for each other.”
At any rate, we’re glad they’re back together – if two toys can’t have a successful relationship, then what chance do any of us real humans stand?
