TMZ reports that according to Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, the 93-year-old actress is currently hospitalized and facing the prospect of losing the lower half of her leg below the knee.
Gabor was rushed to Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center on Sunday night because of the massive blood clot in her lower leg that was discovered by doctors in November.
Currently, doctors are trying to use powerful antibiotics in the hopes of avoiding amputation, according to Gabor’s rep John Blanchette as reported by PEOPLE. However, the star’s health is in critical condition, and the lesion on her leg is 12 inches in length.
Prince von Anhalt said that doctors told him to take his wife in for surgery before the holidays, but Gabor refused, saying that she wanted to be at home during the holidays.
