Oscar Style for the Men

The big hype on Oscar style has always focused more on the women. Mostly because Hollywood’s leading ladies glide down the red carpet in gorgeous gowns of varying textures, fabrics, colors, and detailing while most of Hollywood’s A-List men wear just a nice black suit, a nice black tie, and nice black shoes. Such as George Clooney last night in Armani.

At MSMPR, we love a little variety in our men every once in a while to spice things up even with the smallest little accessory! Tom Ford, who both directed the movie “A Single Man” which Colin Firth was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal in the movie and presented along with Sarah Jessica Parker; was the only person on the carpet who could say he was wearing himself. His added a slight twist to the typical male Oscar attire by adding a single white rose to his lapel.

Another male celeb we loved last night was Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes star Robert Downey Jr. Downey Jr. opted for a blue bow tie and Oliver Peoples Sheldrake glasses with blue lenses to complement his Lanvin suit. Forget about the dress shoes. Robert Downey Jr. went function over fashion with a pair of black tennis shoes!
