On Monday, the Wall Street Journal featured an article written by Gregory Beyer about what it takes to be successful in the field of public relations.
Beyer takes care to note that although social media has a heavy emphasis in today's public relations game, more traditional communication skills - verbal and written - are still just as vital to the success of one's career.
He even says that "the success of a client's business - and your own - depends on your clarity, precision and style."
As Beyer points out, being proficient in certain forms of social media is no longer an advantage, but a necessity.
