Lea Michele: Darling? Diva? Too Soon to Tell?

Lea Michele may have secured a place on some best-dressed lists this past weekend, but it seems some weren't as quick to give the starlet their stamp of approval.

In fact, some were even (gasp!) labeling the "Glee" star a diva-in-training.

I know what you're thinking.

Wait, didn't MSMPR24seven just name Lea number 2 on their best-dressed list for the Emmy Awards?? What happened between now and four days ago?! And didn't Lea Michele just grace the cover of Glamour? What is this diva-like behavior you speak of? How can anyone on "Glee" possibly do any wrong?!

First, breathe.
Second, let me explain.
If you've been keeping a weathered eye on celebrity blogs (PerezHilton.com is especially quick to denounce "Princess Lea" as entitled and rude), you probably noticed some "bumps" on Lea's road map to become everyone's favorite media darling.

First, there was that whole Patrick McMullan incident.

You know what I'm talking about. The famed photographer interrupted Michele and her boyfriend during a make-out sesh to take her picture. Instead of obliging, the starlet allegedly was so snotty to Mr. McMullan that he left cursing at her.

Days later Lea apologized for what was - to use some publicists' favorite word - a "misunderstanding," claiming that all was well with the photog.

Maybe so, but that doesn't really even begin to quiet those whispered accusations of all that power and fame going to her head.

Michele also ruffled some feathers this past weekend when she allegedly spent the entire time snubbing Gleeks - a capital offense to some, to be sure - and, what else, making out with her boyfriend at one of the Emmy after-parties.

Take all this, add the Glamour cover Ms. Michele just obtained, and what do you have?

A wonderful example of how public relations is supposed to work.

Kudos to Michele's PR team for securing the cover during a time when all eyes, for mostly positive reasons, would be on their client. Even if you believe the "Glee" star to be a diva, it's hard to ignore the article, which paints her to be as demanding and overbearing as a homemade cherry pie.

Still can't decide which way to call it? I recommend waiting a bit to make up your mind.

I mean, let's face it - if Lea Michele is as big a diva as E! and Perez are painting her to be, it will certainly be made known soon enough, what with the huge success that is coming her way with the second season of "Glee."

I think the best thing we can do is just tune in, hold tight, and enjoy the ride, because no matter what, it's sure to be entertaining.
