Was MTV's Amy Winehouse Tribute Hypocritical?

Singer Amy Winehouse was honored tonight with a tribute at the MTV Video Music Awards, but some are wondering if MTV's tribute was controversial.

Winehouse's tribute came at the end of a show where cameras captured multiple stars sipping alcoholic beverages even though the singer was known to battle substance abuse. While Russell Brand and Tony Bennett spoke to Amy's talent, it was Bruno Mars, who plead guilty to felony drug possession, who sang "Valerie" in her memory.

Readers, do you think the tribute was marred by MTV's choices? Or do you think it was sweet and spot-on?
